As a recent Longhorn graduate from The University of Texas at Austin, Karla started putting her public relations skills to the test as soon as she stepped foot on campus. From creating content for some of UT’s social media accounts and sending out pitches at Zilker Media to running into Formula 1’s World Champion at Circuit of The Americas and photobombing Hunter Schaffer’s interview at South by Southwest, Karla’s journey is just getting started. Her love for the industry was planted by her mom as she would constantly tell Karla stories about how she would make magic happen through PR and she is thrilled to mimic her mom’s footsteps and do so at Idea Peddler. When she’s not glued to her laptop, Karla is probably on a running trail, swooshing a paintbrush across a blank page, giggling with her friends or cuddling with her cute (but sometimes annoying) Shih-Tzu, Luna María.
